We have been having good weather, but here is the 10 day forecast right now.

Makes me happy

Something other than the Weather to complain about

June 6th, 2008

Mac OS X

Simply put in the world of computer operating systems, Mac OS X is the female. *Nix is the Man and Windows is the questionable fellow creepily staring from afar.

Now why do I say all this about the various OS’s, its simple. Try to configure a Mac to do anything you want it to and its going to get cranky, refuse to do what you want it to making you mad all the while making sure that its appearance is nice and pretty. I’m not even going to mention how illogical the OS setup is in the background.

Linux is mostly centered around Logic, can communicate with anything doesn’t need directions from the other OS’s and in general is awesome.

Windows on the other hand just hangs out doing its own thing making sure that no matter what it is doing it is doing secretly and not allowing others to see its true self. It is always envious of the others even though they are just trying to be nice and play along with whatever it is doing.

Ohh ya, I lied in the subject of this post. I really hate how the weather is so crazy right now. Literally I walked between two buildings and when I left the first one to walk to the other one the weather was gloomy and rainy. I went in the other building made a deposit at the bank and when I came out it was sunny and blue skys.

Yes I’m going to complain again about the weather

June 6th, 2008

Most of the time I just shrug things off and say thats a crazy coincidence, however, when it comes to weather and frisbee its pretty amazing how things go. The practice schedule for playing is MWF and Sundays. Now on Tuesdays we also play for the Summer League which only leaves Thursday and Saturday without frisbee. It has pretty much been crappy out and rained every day of the week this week which ruins practice and any hopes of a bike ride. Now what I find interesting is how the chunks of nice weather have come around but only from say 8am – 4pm and from about noon – 9pm Thursday. I remember during intramurals how the weather would be fine all day until about half an hour before the games started and then would get super windy and cold and then on the days there were no games it would be nice out.

I’m pretty sure there is some higher power out there that just has a huge weather control panel that watches what we do and turns the weather from good to bad depending on what people are wanting to do.

Does weather effect mood?

June 5th, 2008

First of all before I even start in on the actual topic, I hate the two words effect and affect. I am really really bad at grammar and spelling and even if I were good at them I would still have problems deciding which one was the correct one to use.

Ok, now for the subject at hand.

Observing the weather and my moods as of late I’ve come to some interesting conclusions. I’m not going to state the obvious that people’s moods are affected by the weather, but instead talk a bit about how exactly the two correlate.

Observations based on my own moods
- Snow and very cold weather usually don’t bother me too much as I feel that this type of weather is just part of living in Montana as long as they fit the time frame of the year. If its 40 degrees and snowing in June I’m not going to be very happy.

- Overcast and warm I’m fine with. This probably results from the weather allowing me to still go and do outdoor activities, although I may be a bit depressed from the lack of sunshine.

- Overcast and rain. This really has two forms. Either it is cold or warm when the weather is like this. I can deal with it if it is in the 60′s, but won’t be happy. If it is cold and raining I’m going to be upset and cranky and intolerant of others.

- Sunshine and cold, that is, below 60 degrees. This I can deal with as it still allows me to do outdoor stuff.

- Sunshine and warm obviously are the best and I like that.

- Moderate to strong wind. As this is usually an indication of the weather turning to crap I really really hate wind. It messes with anything I want to do outside and just pisses me off.

In general I can deal with Montana’s crazy weather as long as there is a good solid 3 – 4 months of solid nice weather a year. The rest of the year it can do whatever it wants.

Well Global Warming where are you?

June 4th, 2008

Shouldn’t it be warmer now then ever before? I’m pretty impressed with how warm its been here now its June and we are just barely breaking into the 60 degree range. All this rain is really making me happy and excited to wake up every day. I don’t know what I would do if we had a spree of like 3 days where it was in the 70′s and sunny with NO WIND!

I’m glad I spent all the time in the winter trying to get in shape so that I could actually go hiking, biking and play ultimate in the summer. The first person that says that they don’t like it when its warm out gets punched in the face.
